Imagine All The People
Seriously. Let us imagine, for just a minute, that we were a species. A race. The human race
Let us imagine that with this recognition, we are no longer other things
No longer colors, and no longer preferences or sexual orientations
No longer this club or that activity. This party or that affiliation
Yes. Let us pretend that we are all people. One race. The human race
Well, what do you suppose would be possible then?
Imagine if we pooled our collective knowledge. Scientists, theorists, creators and artists all across the world
Sharing information and ideas
What do you think we could accomplish?
What if large corporations and military interests did not buy up all of our greatest minds
And turn them to greed and destruction
What if we Let their knowledge and observations run free
What could we build? Together as one race? The human race
Do you believe that we have the resources and technologies to feed the world
Yes, the world
Do you believe that we could provide cures for diseases that have been killing us off for decades
Or that all of the factors that create a large volume of crime and violence can be completely eliminated
By eliminating their root causes – hunger, poverty, lack of education etc
The truth is, we can do all of that. Right now, this day
It’s possible – don’t believe that it isn’t
I believe in unity
I truly believe that we cannot move forward in any significant way as a people
Unless we start to see ourselves as one people
We can be individuals, we can have groups
But we can be individuals that work together
Groups that form only for the greater good of all
Things could be so different, for everyone
You
Me
Us
One person can do much, but when U-n-I verse…
All things become possible
Think about it

0 CommentsSeeking Something Greater
Peeking around corners, looking through old things
Knowing that something better, greater, is there and it’s meant to be found
Finding not what one is looking for, but what has always been there
Hidden and waiting for the right set of senses to sense
Going here and going there, looking for new things
Thinking the new will bring that old thing back
Knowing that something better, greater, is out there
Waiting to be found, patiently
Thinking those thoughts, examining the inside
Hoping that within may be found that…something
That clue or key or epiphany that leads to something greater
That something better that is just outside of reach
But in the end, finding oneself and realizing
That all the looking in the world
Would not have found the convalescent comfort
The completeness that is yourself
Why seek something greater?
You are life and soul and magic
Believe in something better
Believe in yourself

1 CommentBurning Leaves
The trackless maze, infinite passes
Winding between brown and russet
Reds like youthful anger
It’s during these times –
Winter, no longer Summer’s distant past –
That sparks become revolutions
These dry and falling dreams
Transform into bright and burning flames,
Woe be unto the hand that seeks to stamp or control
For fire burns
And these burning leaves drift
On the wind
And in the end
These burning leaves
Shall blanket the Earth

0 CommentsLocal News From Lehigh Valley August 17-18 2010
Here’s some local news items that I found interesting for one reason or another. All of them are from the Lehigh Valley’s local newspaper The Morning Call and took place approximately around August 17 and 18th 2010. So, in no particular order:
Emmaus Man Steals Almost $400,000 From His Company Over the Course of 9 years
“A 57-year-old Emmaus man has been charged with stealing nearly $400,000 from his employer to support a cocaine habit, borough police said.” Full Story
Normally, I would applaud such a thing…unfortunately, I can’t cosign the fact that all of those thousands supposedly went to the man’s cocaine addiction. Damn shame. That white bitch‘ll getcha everytime.
Kutztown Professor Shoots Wife…and Then Himself
“…apparently distraught his wife had left him a few days earlier, arranged to meet her at a relative’s Reading home, where he shot her several times and himself once in the head at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, police said.” Full Story
…eh…this is an old story. However, there’s another layer here that made it interesting to me. Not only was this something of a May/December relationship, it seems the wife’s previous marriage ended on a pretty sour note as well:
“After she left her first husband…in the early 1990s, he found her in 1998 and shot her boyfriend, Osmond Dacosta Walker, to death in Reading. Philmore was convicted of the crime in 1999 and is in a state prison in Fayette County.” Full Story
Man Shoots People He Thought Was Laughing at Him…Gets 30 Years
“An Allentown man who shot and seriously injured two men outside a Bethlehem apartment complex last year because he thought they were laughing at him will spend up to three decades behind bars.” Full Story
Now, this one pretty much speaks for itself. It’s one of those things that the Boondocks would describe as “a nigga moment” :)) Just one more example of how dumb shit can happen anytime, anywhere and for any reason. Be careful.
Man Chokes Wife Until She Passes Out in Front of Daughter
“A 41-year-old Allentown man allegedly threatened to kill his wife in front of their 3-year-old daughter and then choked her until she passed out, according to court documents.” Full Story
Well now…that seemed rather rude.
Bethlehem Stabbing Caught on Street Camera…Both the Assailant and the Victim are Arrested
“Bethlehem police said a man trying to break up a street-corner fight between two women Monday night was stabbed in the arm after he shoved one woman to the ground.”
…
“Police said the fight around 10 p.m. Monday outside Heffelfinger’s home was recorded by a camera at the comer of Hill and Mechanic streets.” Full Story
It seems that the dude that got stabbed had a warrant out for weapons and harassment charges...go figure.
Sam’s Club Employee Found Guilty of Swiping Your Cards to Put Money in His Pocket
“A Sam’s Club employee in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, has been charged with using about 15 customers’ account cards to steal cash from them.” Full Story
I’m sure it was a cool plan while it lasted. Wish I would’ve thought of doing something like that the last time I worked behind a register.
Yea, there’s much more…but I grow tired of it :)) Somebody that DOES keep up with all the good news in the Lehigh Valley can be found here: http://lehighvalleywithlove.com/

3 CommentsA Track Every Other Day Challenge
As if I didn’t have enough to do, I wanted to also give myself an extra challenge. Nothing crazy, just a track a day. I wanted to make one new track a day, everyday for a month. However, after looking at my time constraints, I turned it into 1 new track every other day. It starts today and a track is due tomorrow.
I invited people to join me on this, cuz stuff like this sucks when you do it alone. And the invitation is still open.
From my Twitter:
Two people said they will do this with me so far, and I will link them daily as long as they keep doing it. Each time I make a new post for each new track, I’ll link theirs too. If you wanna join in, then feel free! Leave a comment here to let me know or drop me a message on twitter or facebook or something.
Rules:
A track every other day. By track I mean pretty much anything. It doesn’t have to be a full song, it doesn’t have to be any particular genre, could just be some experimental stuff. Just record something, whether it be studio or on your phone.
You must put it online some sort of way. Doesn’t matter how. Just so long as it can be linked to and heard.
That’s it…sooooo…Who’s With Me?!?!?!?
