Regal and sensual she strides through my rest
Eternal and forever and a day and my wish
Please grant me forever to savor your kiss
Level upon level of depth in your touch
Yesterday is today and tomorrow is us
Future is now when me and you fuss
Or when me and you crush upon rose petaled lust
Reward is your smile like the sky in the dawn
You win me with wiles and I drown in your storms
O goddess I read through the lines of your psalms
Under your skies I recite In your calm
Believing in but never seeing
The Heathen, a lesser demon
It’s scheming on my soul
It’s infrequent but never leaving
Ether bleeding out of my pores
My spirit leaking
Soaked into the Earths rotted core
A saddened creature
A battered preacher
How to die, the radicals teach us
Students teaching the teachers
And they dying to reach us
Why is it that we shackle ourselves
Then cry for freedom
Metaphorically speaking
Our hearts are terminally weakened
Infirmaries are full of the lives we have forsaken
Mating with injustice and giving birth to complacence
Strangle life choke off our health, the end is nascent
Worshiped like a calf that is gleaming with gold plating
We clothe ourselves with spurious truth
Yet we lie naked
Corporations feed off the blood
Of dying nations
The seat of Christ is vacant
Siddhartha said time is wasting
The sound of one hand clapping
Is God getting smacked for faking
Jesus told me
“Son calm down, you’re talking dangerous”
I killed myself
So I could come back as Buddha’s patience
This world’s a patient
In Gods House Of Sick Creations
Prescripted with a dose of common sense
That we ain’t taking
Instead we medicated on war
And common hatreds
The politicians gore us with words
And pretty phrases
But really they just corporate whores
With pretty faces
Money is the root and the plant
Is grown in acres
Each design seemed of mirrors
Sliced thin to string
And woven thread-like
Into the fabric
Of her blood blue jeans
If I concentrated hard enough
I could truly
See myself in her pants
Silk blouse –
The color of
A six winged angel’s
Lust –
Hung loosely
About her left shoulder,
Line slanting
Tightening about her chest
Before disappearing
Underneath her right
Underarm
She took a step
In those glass heels
And then another
Scraping scratching
Breaking again and again
Something inside of me
She walked like
The moon sings
Body shaped
Like a black hole’s
Orgasm
As if she knew, she smiled
I could imagine Lucifer smiled
Exactly like that
As he bowed before his lord
Knowing what was to come
A smile that
Preludes the coming war
For my soul
Wanting to conquer
And claim Heaven
Yet falling and
Falling into her
Finding Hell
Truly –
There is no
Place like home
She laughed
As if she
Read my thoughts
Sounding like
An alien rainbow
Rising water
Not of this world
Forming clouds these skies
Have never seen
Spectrum reflected
By unfamiliar sun
Neither beautiful nor ugly
Exotic. Enticing, at the same time,
Frightening
Genuine too
As that smile is reflected
In those eyes
The color of a desert’s disdain
For moisture
Yet I drown
Hair the length
Of a hot summer night
The color fading
From a midnight’s chill
At the roots
To a dictator’s will
At the tips
She calls to me
With the voice of a thousand gods
Raping a thousand virgins
Messiahs
Born on her tongue
Saliva made of prophesy
Vocal chords driving destiny
Between lips the same color as forever
And just as lush
For better or for worse
No telling which
As my hand touches skin
The hue of a million desires
Wooden floorboards
Brown piano keys
Form a crazy melody
Stained with black
Marks – memories
Of old chewing gum
Left by careless child
Made permanent
By the trod of
Unseeing foot wear
Fused into less than
Intricate patterns
In need of a lot more
Than the push of the
Broom or the polish
Of a mop
Home away / From home
A small grate, obdurate
Defying the floor board’s
Complete dominance
Unused Chimney –
Dust claiming soot’s
Living area – bordered
By ornate figurines and
Decorations, peculiar odds
Curious ends
Picture frames
Suspended on cracked
Walls – rewind time
Old proprietress now young
Perpetual frown, now
Eternal smile
Home away / From home
Paper laid like leaves
Over this landscape
Of earth tones, books
Begging for attention
Yet lying unnoticed
Neglected clothing, only re-
Membered on wash day
And sometimes not even then
As the dirty sock peeking
From underneath the couch
Can surely attest
Haphazard precarious
Room in need of a sign
Thick Newport smoke filters through every pore of my universe
Choking every verse spoken and coughing they burst
From my mind where they birthed through my mouth till it hurts
Cause my vocals are burned by the heat
Spilling forth from the womb that is thought
Though its god is the Word of the sea springing up
Giving form to the soul and the features of such
That have flown through the blood pumping beat
Take me home for I die and never could see
How the firefly mimics the soul and I keep
On hoping to find what was hidden in deep
Like dreams in my sleep like heathens that speak
The word of a lord that has never been seen
Only heard from above by people who seek
To uncover that Word from which all things received
To believe and to keep in their hearts till they cease
To breathe and to be and to see and to grieve
To live and to love and to lust for these things
That cannot be explained or obtained through the means
That are used to obtain material gains
Lessons of night only heard in the dark
When the stars are as fruit that hang from the top
And the tree be the black and expansive and not
Of the Earth but its roots rest deep in our minds
Watered by time it grows and expands
Covers the land of the unbroken man
Unspoken commands invocation of plans
That are whispered by gods and witnessed as lives
Living and past and driven to pass
Through the limits they crash and eventually fly
Cause the limits that lie in each of our paths
Are the reasons we soar with the thought spoken rhyme
And we be the black and expressive with art
And we be the day of the night in our hearts
Lay the light of the fire the sun and the start
The spark of the flame that burns throughout time
Its the spirit unbroken unending and lost
The original fire Prometheus brought
The story of us and of every mans hope
To endure until galaxies name us with fame
Of a light unshaded untamed and the part
That explains whence we came where we go read the chart
And you’ll find that destined is greatness for us
That wrestling with fate in the end yields results
That hesitant faces delay the impulse
To go forth and explore what your vision has wrought
What prisoners sought in the dark on the pulse
Of the morn when nothing exists but their ghosts
Of the corpse of a thought that has died on this page
That lies in this grave blood dripping as ink
Life fluids are spilled in the margins of pain
Lay dying and crying and sadly ashamed

To Hear
A murmur ran through the crowd.
From your lips, whispers,
“We should leave.”
We should breathe.
Suffocated by the press
of people and smoke,
filtered through empty minds.
“We can make it back in time,”
you said quietly to my ear.
We can be as one,
or two, together.
Pressed between car door
and car door, and backseat.
“…,” I said,
as your lips
lightly touch lobe.
Afterwards, we laughed
Then, we loved
