Ever since I wrote my post about the movie Repeaters some time ago, there has been a LOT of traffic to my site from people looking for the song at the end of the movie. Apparently, it was also featured on the show Shameless, which has led a lot of people to look for it as well. The song at the end of Repeaters is called Breakneck Speed by the group Tokyo Police Club. TPC is a Canadian indie rock band and it looks like, little by little, the group has been making some noise. Breakneck Speed, the Song at the End of Repeaters

DaEvolution
DaEvolution DaEvolution Lyrics It’s the evolution – Gold Platinum to Diamond The revolution – Gold Platinum to Diamond The ghetto’s moving – Gold Platinum to Diamond This our resolution – Gold Platinum to Diamond It started out with sweating slaves bleeding out our agriculture Picking cotton, fat pockets for Caucasian male nigger owners Then we marched for better days, slaves became better soldiers Ghettos turned battlefields and our game became colder What’s the future – untold the computer’s the controller I refuse to fold, stumble, get rolled or roll over And I ain’t trying to preach so don’t give me […]

Skippy Snack Bar Commercial With the Elephants

That’s what’s in the jar, the very same Skippy, that’s what’s in the bar! Honestly, I thought they caught a legitimate reggae vibe with this one. The song has been stuck in my head for years now. You can’t beat that. 😉 http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xeg4p_skippy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM6dFRN-5TU […]

Mirrors

Mirrors I see god multiplied a trillion times Each time I look into the mirror Each word grinds against each man’s knowing Until each man’s doings reflect me I see skies that reflect the brilliance of each man’s mind Clouds that rain the tears of each mans eyes Salty rivers that flow between the shores of each mans sighs Mimicking the tears I cry Each man that died left pieces of me That consolidate and coincide with my own memories So I am history made flesh and stuck on repeat I am death made life supernatural energy I am shallow […]

Final Notice

Final Notice I saw Death caress the neck of her The rest of her rest in peace within the sepulcher “Love lost love gained,” sang the messenger The one truth is that pain is the lecturer Fame is the death of us Chained to the nebula Ocean deep is he who sees through the veil of us But never takes it off Laid upon a bed of myrrh Stars flowing through my veins where the final war Will be fought upon the plains of my darkest thoughts “Make it stop,” screamed the child as his eyes watched on But it […]

On Creation

On Creation Sometimes one must sacrifice Their whole world, just to gain a piece Of that otherness, the existence That hides just outside of reach That broken thought becomes the Word That dead messiahs preach That Word becomes the unheard void That metaphysics teach What they seek is not an object Sacrifice the semi-logic Chaos brings random to order To create that crucial conflict Without which, the design fails Crumbles into seeming nonsense Or explodes into something new— Static thought turns into progress What happens when it shatters Do the pieces scatter in the night Creating something not unlike Life, […]
