Daria – Opening Theme Music and Lyrics

I was always a fan of Daria. As an angsty, somewhat intelligent, pessimistic teen, she really spoke to me. But this isn’t about that. It’s about that awesome theme song that kicked off each episode.

The song was written and performed by a female grunge group called Splendora. They only ever dropped one album back in 1995, but the Amazon reviews for it all agree it was excellent. The theme song itself, You’re Standing on My Neck, does a good job of outlining the finer, more subtle points of the show itself.
