Likeness of Beauty (For Lilianne)
Likeness of beauty sculptured by god and placed before me
I rise to your light outstretch to your smile you grow in my mind I am lost in your cloud
Lioness on the prowl I am your prey and I pray in the night that you are my fate
Incite my insight with your beautiful ways that splash me like waves
And enrapture my gaze captured and trapped you torture with grace
Natural that I should write to the page then read it aloud to you right to your face
Notice your smile when I compliment taste you make me feel shy in a confident way
Evanesced from my dream when I wake to the day
Likeness of beauty sculptured by god and placed before me
Intoxicate thought with vapors that pour from your presence
Walked in your light fought the urge to be free
Trapped by my own moral standings my own comprehensions
So I ask the world to stand up and bear witness
To this kiss as it’s written and transferred from the pen
To your lips where it’s given
From the page to your neck to your hips
Where my lips may be pressed if not for
This page and this pen in my grasp
It’s a given that Heaven was smitten
Astonished that I found you living on Earth
When nothing but pain I was given since birth
But here you are dream come alive
From the seams I am ripped
And my dream never died
I can see that my dead hopes have risen
You and I verse and we are the word
You have given me something to feel
You are delight satisfaction unheard
Delivered from verse and made Real
