Excuses
Marriage of media to beast
Slave to foreign currencies
That wash ashore on native currents
Indigenous the waters
Extraterrestrial the life
That drinks of its body
“To live,” thus spake the parasite
Heliocentric view that we may see
Blinded by its looks
Literal interpretations
Of ancient fiction
Over wine laid on the backs
Of prostrate children
“To live,” thus spake the parasite
Fire from skies akin
To some ancient fulfillment
Arms racing like two hands
Moving forward to grasp the same things
Greedy to crush that which offends
The beholder’s eye
“To live,” thus spake the parasite
