The LXD – The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers

The-LXD-1[1]

I was put on to these guys by seeing them perform a routine on So You Think You Can Dance (Season 6 Week 6 Episode 20). I thought the performance was inventive, unique, entertaining and very skillfully done. Pretty much the opposite of 85% of the stuff you might see while watching America’s Best Dance Crew. So, like any other internet savvy person of today, I started searching.

Outside of their appearances on television, they completed three seasons of a LXD web series. The series is broken into segments but tells an overall narrative through different forms of dance. It’s basically like watching the X-Men as told through incredible dance moves instead of mutant powers. It’s awesome. And all of it is available on YouTube. But you can get the first two seasons on Amazon.

“Presented by Jon M. Chu, the director of Step Up 2 and the upcoming Step Up 3-D; and Choreographed by Harry Shum Jr (from Glee:), Christopher Scott and Galen Hooks” Now that’s a lot of talent.

The LXD: In the Internet age, dance evolves ...

The LXD (the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers) electrify the TED stage with an emerging global street-dance culture, revved up by the Internet. Directed by Jon M. Chu, this astonishing troupe of dancers and musicians show off their superpowers.
